Summer is here! This summer I am looking forward to beach time, BBQ’s, and sunny celebrations—and with each event comes such an important element…the outfit. I love mixing and matching fashion styles and drawing inspiration from friends, magazines and (of course) Pinterest. I have been doing some summer shopping and wanted to share my favorite summer fashion finds with you!
Grey Sport Tank & Silk Skirt from Madewell: Inspired for the perfect outfit for my boyfriend’s birthday party, I headed into Madewell confident that I would find a casual, flirty outfit that would be the right balance of preppy and trendy. And of course: I found it. This grey sporty tank is light and relaxed—perfect for a hot summer day. The heather grey pattern is flattering and can go with almost any bottom. I paired this tank with a short silk shirt with a sash tie. The skirt has oversized pockets (love pockets) and can be dressed up or down. I am so excited about this outfit and know that it will be worn again for a summer date night, backyard BBQ and even into the fall.
Pencil Skirt from Ann Taylor: I must admit that I purchased this skirt after seeing it on a dear friend and co-worker. Even though I knew we’d have to coordinate to avoid wearing it the same day, I had to have it. This yellow and white polka-dot pencil skirt from Ann Taylor makes a workday that much more fun! I love the bright summertime color and punchy polka-dots. I’ve worn this skirt several times already and each time I get compliments. I’ve paired this skirt with a white blouse, chambray button-up and a black t-shirt—It will make for a fun and fashionable work outfit.
Boat Shoes from Sperry: My new navy blue Boat Shoes from Sperry are a fabulous addition to my summer wardrobe. My boyfriend has worn Boat Shoes for years, and I finally got my first pair last week! I am traveling to North Carolina this summer and know my Boat Shoes will be the perfect East Coast, beachy touch with white jeans or chino shorts. Over the past month, many of my Los Angeles friends have shared about their recent Sperry purchases too – metallic gold, classic tan, Nantucket red canvas – we all love this nautical and preppy look!
Metallic Bobby Pins from JCREW: I love these metallic bobby pins from JCREW. I’m always pushing hair back from my face, and these bobby pins not only hold my hair in place incredibly well, but they also add a shimmer of dressiness. The combination of yellow gold, rose gold and silver ensures coordination with every outfit!
