My Favorite 3…HomeGoods Finds

It’s no secret that HomeGoods is one of my favorite places for home décor and entertaining. Feeling in need of a small home pick-me-up, I treated myself to a quick trip to celebrate the end of my workweek!

These bright and colorful macaroon dishtowels add a fun pop to my kitchen!

How cute is the Kate Spade flamingo apron? It will definitely make cooking more fun!

With any excuse to celebrate my dog, I couldn’t pass up on these dog party napkins!

It’s hard to walk away from Home Goods empty handed, and with their great prices, you always feel you like scored!

Workday Wardrobe Update

I’d recently been feeling like my workday wardrobe was in a bit of a rut. Each morning I would stare blankly feeling uninspired by my clothing options. Have you ever felt this way? I wanted to be spend savvy and not go overboard, so I went on a hunt for a few staple pieces that were versatile, yet offered a spark of inspiration!

Gold Metallic Ballet Flats from JCREW
I’m definitely a flats girl, especially in the workplace. I came across the adorable Gemma Cap-Toe Flat from JCREW and instantly loved them. For me, gold is a neutral that pairs well with almost anything. I typically go for round-toe ballet flats, but was eager to mix-it-up with the semi-pointed toe on this pair. So far, I’ve found myself pairing these flats with pants, skirt and dresses. They are the classic go-to, and with a promotion code, within my budget!

Black Trousers from Banana Republic
Banana Republic often has exceptional deals, so when I saw “40% Off Your Purchase” I immediately decided to take a peek! Black trousers are a workplace staple and sometimes a fresh pair is needed for a wardrobe pick-me-up. I found the Logan Trouser with a slimming silhouette and rich fabric for everyday work-wear. I plan to hem these to wear with flats (hello, newly purchased Gold Metallic Ballet Flats!) for a casual, yet sophisticated style. I definitely recommend signing up at Banana Republic for promotional emails and deals—it’s a great way to know when new products become able and get the best savings!

Tailored Tee from Madewell
There is no strict dress code at my office and although I more often take a formal approach to style, I definitely include a casual look a few times per week. I found the Tailored Tee from Madewell and instantly crushed—the material is thick, the design is flowy yet feminine, and I love that it drapes a bit lower in the back. I chose the Cabernet color and I am so pleased with my choice—it is the perfect fall/winter shade. I plan to pair this top with trousers for a more refined look, and with jeans and flats for a casual style.

Sometimes giving your workday wardrobe a facelift is just what you need to help you get through the workweek! I recommend finding a few key pieces that can easily be integrated into what you already own. And with summer here, be on the lookout for great deals! Happy shopping!

My Favorite 3…French Finds

I recently came home from a week in France and am still daydreaming about it! After two days in the Champagne region, we traveled to Paris for a taste of city life. We stayed in the St-Paul and Le Marais neighborhood, one of the oldest and most charming areas in Paris. Just north of the Isle St Louis (“the little island”), we strolled through open markets, played tourist seeing the city’s highlights, explored art and culture, and of course ate a lot cheese!

This neighborhood is known as being one of the most trendy and fashionable shopping streets. Lined with boutique shops, the storefronts presented everything from clothing and home goods, linens and soaps, and so much more! It was hard to come home empty handed, and I found a few favorite items that will forever remind me of this trip!

Ema Blue’s Silk Blouse
The Marais has many chic and stylish clothing stores. I found this colorful, floral, pinstripe silk blouse by Ema Blue’s and immediately fell for it. It’s billowy and tunic style, which makes it comfortable in addition to fashionable. And it’s made in France, something I found special!

Jonak Gold Flats
There is no shortage of shoe boutiques in Paris. As I walked past Jonak (near the Bastille) these gold flats popped out to me! I love the metallic gold—perfect to dress up a pair of jeans and coordinate with a dress for a night out!

Mariage Frères Tea
My husband introduced me to Mariage Frères Tea shortly after we first started dating—he brought this tea home for me from Paris, and I savored every bag. It’s by far my favorite tea, and so I was excited to visit this specialty shop during this trip. The scents and tastes were all incredible, but I decided on The A L’Opera (red fruit and vanilla green tea) and Blanc & Rose (white tea & tender rose petals).

I love travelling, and especially enjoy finding a few special items to bring home with me, to remind me of my experiences and memories abroad!
